Are you looking for a great pre-workout snack that will take you almost ZERO time to prepare? Well, I believe these amazingly delicious Fruit & Nut Energy Bites will do this!
The only thing you need to do is to spend 20 minutes or less during your free time and prepare as many bites as you need to stock for your pre-workout sessions. I normally prepare about 30 to 40 bites for about one week and have them with me whenever I go to work-out.
These delicious Fruit & Nut Energy Bites can also serve just as a regular snack whenever you want to grab something sweet or you need some energy. Normally, people grab a cup of coffee, energy drink or energy bar bought in a store. Before you reach for these, think twice. Extra caffeine and refined sugar does not provide real energy, they will just leave you anxious. They will provide you energy for a while, but then will make you crash soon after.
The Fruit & Nut Energy Bites do not contain any additional sugar. All the sweetness comes from the dried fruit. So whenever you feel like you need some energy or you just go to a gym, but you don´t have time to prepare a nutritious snack or meal, get these power-packed energy bites instead. Energy snack with right ingredients can boost your energy and won´t make you feel tired soon.
So check out the recipe of this delicious, amazing, easy energy snack. I´m sure you will love it!! - 200 grams almonds
- 100 grams apricots, dried
- 100 grams dates, dried
- 50 grams cranberries, dried
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp orange oil
Instructions
- Place almonds first in the food processor or a blender and mix until you get almost an almond flour.
- Into a big bowl, place the blended almonds.
- Add dates, apricots, cranberries and both oils (coconut and orange) into a blender or food processor (whichever you have), mix well until broken down into a paste. Orange oil should add a little bit of orange flavour to the bites. If you want to intensify the flavour, I recommend adding the skin from the orange fruit into the blender. I tried both versions, and I like it more with the more intensive flavour from the fruit.
- Add the mixture into the almond flour.
- Mix altogether, the batter should be nice and sticky. If not, feel free to add a bit of melted coconut oil. Be careful not putting too much, otherwise it gets too oily.
- Store in a fridge at least 1 hour before eating. Otherwise no problem storing it outside for 2-3 days.
