The following recipes use a combination of fruits and vegetables, they are highly nutritious and very delicious! I tried all of the four healthy green smoothies below shortly before hitting the gym and they gave me absolutely enough energy for the work-out.
1. Spinach, cucumber & apple smoothie
Ingredients (2 portions):
2 handful spinach 1-2 tbsp chia seeds
1 medium apple 2 tbsp maple syrup
1 baby cucumber 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 cup of almond (or soy) milk
2. Fat Burning Smoothie
Ingredients (2 portions):
1 cup spinach 1/4 cup fresh mint
1 stalk celery 1/2 grapefruit
1/4 avocado 1 cup pineapple
1/3 cup brewed green tea
pinch of cayenne pepper
3. Green Protein Smoothie
Ingredients (1 portion):
1 handful spinach 1 banana
1/2 avocado 1/2 lemon
1 cup soy milk 1 tbsp vanilla protein powder ( I used whey)
4. Avocado Pineapple Smoothie
Ingredients (1 portion):
1/2 cup pineapple 1/2 avocado
1 handful spinach 1/2 cup coconut water
1 tbsp chia seeds 1 frozen banana
